OURIKA VALLEY AND SETTI FATMA : DAY TRIP FROM MARRAKECH

A 60 km from Marrakech, this rushes into the high Atlas, lets us discover a small river lined with trees, also the authentic Berber life in the villages. Departure from your hotel at 8 am to the Ourika valley across the plain of Haouz. Then explore the Berber villages along the valley. then will drive 30 km to Ourika valley which is a typical region of the High Atlas. Particularly green throughout the year, traversed by the Oued (River).

This tour, not to be missed if one has a short time, allow yourself to discover the Atlas and its valley inhabited by Berber tribes. The extreme point, Setti Fatma,is a 65Km South of Marrakesh. The valley is punctuated by a string of douars  (villages) attached to the hillside. Water is everywhere, which winds through the meadows, irrigating fields and orchards. Many of Marrakchis have second homes in Ourika Valley, or simply they take hostels or hotels when the temperature of their city has became very high. Setti Fatma, 1500m above sea level, is a pleasant village where it is possible to take many walks. The typical mountain trek which leads to a cascade of 7 waterfalls is an absolute most do. After walking back from the waterfalls, free time for lunch in one of the restaurant close to the river. Return back to Marrakech around 5 p.m.

OUZOUD  WATERFALLS : DAY TRIP FROM MARRAKECH

Morocco’s highest falls, about a two and a half/three hour drive form Marrakech, so a long day trip. Best seen in the spring after the winter rains. At 7:00 am the departure from Marrakech to Demnate across the green lands with its different styles of agriculture street to be in the heart of the natural bridge of Imi Nifri. Then we stop to visite, to enjoy and to have our breakfast in front of fabulous landscapes of mountains. Street to Tannant a village on the top hill will welcome you with a natural smile, after Tannant jbel azoukri, with its outstanding panorama came’s up with Jbel Ghat both of them covered by a Wight snow hat. Last stop will be in ouzoud , 15 minutes walking from the stop point to waterfalls .

Upon your arrival you will be surprised but the colors of the rainbow who are so pretty in the middle of the water falling on the rocks, during the way down you will have a chance to go on the boet to where the water fall in after this you will go to discover the olive trees lands with your guide to enjoy a walk and to be welcomed by a wild monkeys. Up to the restaurant an amazing view will offer a traditional lynch, you will have a lynch and you will drive back to Marrakech the arrival will be at 17:00pm.

Between Marrakech and Ouarzazate lies one of the most scenic routes in Morocco. It traverses the High Atlas mountains via the stunning Tizi n’ Tichka pass (2260m) and is possibly the most beautiful route in Morocco.

On this Marrakech day trip to Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate the first port of call is Telouet, a village on the ‘Route of the Caravans’ from the Sahara over the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. Telouet has one of the most spectacular Kasbahs in the Atlas, which was once the palatial residence and headquarters of the powerful Glaoui tribe.

ESSAOUIRA : DAY TRIP FROM MARRAKECH

One day excursion to Essaouira - a coastal town (approx 2,5 h driving from Marrakech) providing an excellent opportunity to relax on the beach. The Medina of Essaouira is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage site, it combines history and culture with modern cafes and restaurants. Essaouira has a long promenade with a large, sandy beach. It is safe to swim here, though, as usual, parents should accompany their children in the water. There are many activities taking place on the beach – local boys are playing football, families are enjoying the beach and camel owners providing camel rides along the coast line. This is a perfect opportunity to get away from the city rush and enjoy the cooler climate of the coastal town of Essaouira.

The tour starts at 8:00 hrs from Marrakech and returns back to Marrakech at ~ 18:00 hrs. On the way to Essaouira there is an opportunity to stop for a visit in Argan Oil Women Cooperative. During the excursion you will also be able to see the surrounding countryside.
